Aout – Développement durable – Lancement de la chaufferie bois
Fin août, la Municipalité valide le lancement d’une procédure de délégation de service public pour la gestion d’une chaufferie bois dans les quartiers sud de Caen (Grâce de Dieu et Guérinière). Fonctionnant principalement au bois, elle économisera une grande quantité de gaz à effet de serre et permettra de soutenir une filière bois bien implantée en Basse-Normandie.
De plus, couplée à un réseau de chaleur, cette chaufferie proposera aux habitants de ces quartiers une énergie propre et moins coûteuse que le fioul ou le gaz. Elle permet enfin de protéger les habitants des hausses du coût de l’énergie, le bois n’étant pas soumis aux augmentations substantielles que connaissent les énergies fossiles.
Dans sa version étendue, ce projet concerne 4000 logements sociaux et privés, 20 bâtiments publics (dont les lycées, collèges et écoles). La chaufferie sera mise en service d’ici 2014 soit 6 ans avant le rendez-vous de 2020, date à laquelle la ville s’est engagée à produire 20% d’énergies d’origine renouvelable sur son territoire, un véritable défi.
